Looking for a deal on a New Surron electric dirt bike on places like Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, or Alibaba? Now you can get scammed by a retail dealer as well. There are some Surron authorized dealers scamming customers with black market bikes that are not covered under manufacturer warranty and not possible to register with DMV for green sticker.
🛑 How to Protect Yourself: Two Essential Rules
- Check the VIN of the bike. If the fourth digit is S the bike is legal US model and you will have warranty and support. If the number is Y the bike is Black Market non legal model and you will not get Manufacturer Support.
- Ask for Certificate Of Origin issued by the Manufacturer to the US Authorized Dealer witch name and address should be printed on the front page. (Not in Chinese) With that document you can register the bike with DMV as an off-road motorcycle.
